Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the role. But her parents would not allow her to act until she turned an adult due to the impact stress might affect their child. Perry was shy during high school and did not act. Her first acting experience was in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends after she was transferred from Boston University. Perry went on to New York, where she got small roles on shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Homesickness then brought Perry her back home California which was where theatre jobs were available. Perry's mother and I appeared on Broadway together as part of The Other Place, in 2013. The show featured their father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. Perry was a regular character in the ABC drama about politics Scandal that starred her dad. In the same year, she played a young character based on Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) in which she played her mother as a young version. The character was chosen via auditions the fact that she had a deep association with it.
